Hey gang,

The wait is over. Available for download is the Atlanta based dreamers’, Lille, new track “Microcosmic Slumber”! This celestial lullaby is the first of many new songs you’ll be hearing from Lille in the near future. After the success of Tall Shoulders (the band’s debut EP) and a slew of shows, front woman Grace Bellury took some time to write and re-assess the project. Deciding against a full length album, Grace has opted to give songs away as they are completed.

Microcosmic Slumber is a huge step forward for Lille. Fans of Tall Shoulders will instantly recognize the delicate pluckings of the ukelele paired with Grace’s angelic and soulful voice, however the track’s atmospheric bleeps and escalating drones show a new spirit of experimentation.

Click here to download Microcosmic Slumber and get pumped! There’s a lot of new music to look forward to.

Our good pal Scott McKibben recently launched his new site Eye of the Crow where he shoots intimate stripped down performances of different artists. You may remember him from Little Horn’s “Bridges Break” video that we posted a while back. Well, now he’s back with two videos from our very own Lille shot last year in New Orleans. Check them out below!

Just returned home from Mr. and Mrs. Whale’s house. We had thai food, a few laughs and a listen to the pre-mixes of Lille’s record. I’d tell you it’s awesome, but you know it is. Word around the water cooler says It’s 85% in the can, songs are all there though. There’s a part for a children’s choir that still needs to be laid down. Hardest part of recording kids? Getting them to sit still. Best part? Paying them in cookies.

Big day here at Whale Central. For starters, we’ve got the release of Little Horn’s Twelve EP. You can read early reviews of it here and here. Twelve is the first recording for this particular line up of Little Horn. Up til now it’s pretty much been Keith and whoever he’s hanging out with at the time. The new band (DJ Higgum, Steve Brown and Rob “Jimbob” Bellury) fill out the songs and support Keith’s deep southern baritone in a way we haven’t heard before. Go here to watch the guys perform Bridges Break at the Georgia Guide Stones.

Next, we’ve got Pacific Theater dropping video for their medley, “The Weight / Festival”. The two songs make up tracks one and two on their upcoming release, Warm Light. Warm Light is due September 6th and the gang are playing a show tonight in Williamsburg.

Last but not least, Lille have begun recording their next record at our home away from home, Metaltern Studios. Guided by the steady hand of producer, studio wizard and barbecue scion, Daniel Whitt, the band have begun laying down tracks. There are 10 - 15 songs floating around. I imagine Grace is currently plucking them out of the air like so many colorful balloons. DB will be joining the crew in the studio over the weekend for some mustache grooming and high five competitions.

Wait, July’s over?

Lille played Kavarna in Georgia friday night. In Grace’s words “We all dressed up like we wuz at prom but I think we just looked like funeral goers instead.” Looks like munster prom to me. Oh and Rob, could you find a bigger white tie, please? Thanks. The gang is currently preparing to go into the studio to begin recording their next record. New tunes!!!

Last night Lille played to a packed out house at The Buckhead Theatre opening for the Dresden Dolls. And they freaking killed it! The audience went wild and the band performed like champs. Really a great great night and a huge step forward for Lille and Whale Heart.

Check out some fan videos of the show. Who knew mobile devices could sound so good?
