duchess leo and i had the pleasure of playing with ben & ashi at glasslands earlier this month.  a sort of dream folk, if you will, theirs is the kind of music that makes you want to hold and be held so badly you unconsciously begin holding yourself. 

if it seems like they should be together, it’s because they are.  and their union has inspired a series of melancholy love songs, heart string tuggers with a dash of cynicism in the romance.

ben & ashi’s forthcoming debut, aptly titled “something old, borrowed and blue” almost follows the arc of a relationship, from the discovery of love to the commitment of marriage, and all the joy and heartache in between.
